The student already understands and uses basic phrases. Can introduce him\/herself or others, answer questions about where he\/she lives, who he\/she knows and what he\/she has. Can use vocabulary that enables him\/her to communicate with others in a simple way provided by the speaker who speaks slowly and clearly and is willing to cooperate.<\/p><p>Upon completion of the A1 level course, the student will be able to:<\/p><ul><li>Introduce him\/herself and others and carry out a &#8222;short conversation&#8221; in formal and informal situation;<\/li><li>Briefly discuss the situation in which he\/she finds him\/herself, justify his\/her choice, express opinions on everyday topics (hobbies, sports, day schedule, meeting, education);<\/li><li>Make short descriptions of people and things;<\/li><li>Carry out a short conversation in public places: at the doctor&#8217;s, at work, on a journey, in a restaurant, in a shop, on transport, in a bank, in cultural places, make a complaint, accept an invitation, make a reservation\/booking;<\/li><li>Use the present, past and future tenses;<\/li><li>Indicate and describe in simple terms occupations and jobs;<\/li><li>Use dates, times, seasons, days and months.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Level A2<\/strong><\/p><p>Teaching Polish as a foreign language at A2 level means developing communicative competences. Student is already able to communicate in simple, routine situations concerning everyday matters such as: work, school, entertainment etc. requiring conveying short and clear information. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his\/her background, surroundings and matters relating to essential everyday needs.<\/p><p>Upon completion of A2 level, the student will be able to:<\/p><ul><li>Talk about themselves and others, tell about future plans, give advice;<\/li><li>Make comparisons between people, places, different objects, information;<\/li><li>Interpret statistical data;<\/li><li>Express feelings, hopes, wishes, describe advantages and disadvantages of people and places;<\/li><li>Talk about family (family relationships, relations, friendships);<\/li><li>Understand headlines and short newspaper articles;<\/li><li>Describe customs, culture and celebrations in Poland and other countries;<\/li><li>Express surprise, protest, opinion, approval.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Level B1<\/strong><\/p><p>At B1 level, the student understands uncomplicated texts on familiar topics such as work, education, leisure, art, travel, etc. and understands the main points of standard, daily speech. Can deal with a variety of communicative situations encountered in everyday life. Can produce simple connected text on familiar topics and talk about events he\/she has witnessed, his\/her experiences, dreams, hopes and aspirations and give a brief explanation or justification for a project or idea.<\/p><p>At the end of the B1 level the student will have a wide range of knowledge, vocabulary and good grammar skills. He\/she will easily communicate in Polish in everyday life as well as in professional and scientific context. He\/she will be able to shape his\/her speech using emotional means of expression and will have no difficulty in understanding the speech of the speaker.\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Level B2<\/strong><\/p><p>At level B2, the student can understand most instructions and longer texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including specialised discussions on subjects within his\/her field of specialisation. Can interact with a native speaker, construct clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue.<\/p><p><strong>Level C1<\/strong><\/p><p>At level C1, the student understands complex texts and can recognise implicit meaning, i.e. meaning not expressed directly. Can express him\/herself spontaneously and fluently. Uses complex grammatical structures which contribute to the linguistic organisation and internal coherence of the text. The student reacts without problems during conversation, understands messages and constructs his\/her own forms of expression, which present his\/her views, opinions and comments. Students will be able to find their place in a discussion and will speak freely on all subjects.<\/p><p><strong>Level C2<\/strong><\/p><p>At level C2, the student is able to understand both read and heard texts. Can summarise information from different sources and present a problem clearly and with reasoning. Can express him\/herself spontaneously and very fluently, distinguishing precisely nuances of meaning even in more complex situations.<\/p><p>During Polish language courses for foreigners at B2 &#8211; C2 level students use already acquired knowledge, rich vocabulary, both general as well as specialist and expert one. They are constantly encouraged to hold dialogues freely, both on private, business and scientific topics.
